SilkDSP ("we," "us") makes audio plugins for digital audio workstations. This page explains what personal data we collect when you buy or use our products, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
When you buy a plugin from us, we collect and store:
- Your email address, so we can send you your license key and let you recover it later.
- Your purchase and license history (what you bought, when, your license key, whether it's active or refunded).
- The IP address and browser user agent recorded each time you download an installer using your license key, kept as an access log, mainly to spot obvious license-key sharing.
We never see or store your card number. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe on their own hosted checkout page, we only ever receive confirmation that a payment succeeded.
Who we share it with
- Stripe, to process payment. Stripe also acts as merchant of record for these transactions, meaning Stripe (not SilkDSP directly) is the party legally responsible for collecting and remitting applicable sales tax. See Stripe's own privacy policy for how they handle your payment data.
- Resend, to deliver license-key and license-recovery emails.
We don't sell your data to anyone, for any reason.
Cookies
This site itself doesn't set any cookies and doesn't run any analytics or tracking scripts. If you go through checkout, Stripe's own hosted payment page (on their domain, not ours) sets its own cookies for fraud prevention, that's between you and Stripe once you're on their page.
How long we keep it
We keep purchase and license records indefinitely, since that's what lets you recover a lost license key months or years later. If you'd rather we deleted your data instead, see "Your rights" below, just know that deleting it means we can no longer help you recover a lost license.
Your rights
You can ask us what data we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we'll handle it directly, there's no self-service account system for this (see the note on "how purchases work" if you're wondering why).
How purchases work here
We don't use password-based customer accounts. A purchase is tied to your email address and a generated license key, and you can look up your license keys again later by entering that same email on our license recovery page. This is deliberate: fewer account credentials floating around, less password-reset surface to secure.
Children
This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
